I think River has a new nickname: the raterpillar. Because of how much she enjoys eating lettuce, and also because of her technique of nibbling from the edges. ^.^
Thanks. Fortunately I don't get freaked out by stuff like that. But I'm grateful you said it's not life-threatening: My housemates have just lost two especially beloved rats in the past few months, and that's always very sad.

although a warning, River has a tumor now - it's not life threatening, but it looks a bit body-horrory and freaks some people out.
